The Ritual
When the soil has dried completely, slowly pour approximately 0.5 oz of water over the crystal, allowing the water to flow gently around it and into the living garden below.
As you water, take a moment to be present. Set an intention for the energy you want to nurture—within your space and within yourself. Let the crystal ground your intention while the plant reminds you that growth takes time, care and patience.
This is more than watering a plant. It’s a small ritual of connection between you, living energy and energy from the earth.
Nurture your space. Set your intention. Influence your energy.
At GINA&AURA, we believe the energy you bring into your space matters—and so does the way it gets there.
Every cactus and succulent chosen for our Zen Gardens is individually handpicked. We look beyond appearance, selecting healthy, established plants and paying particular attention to the condition of their roots before they ever become part of an arrangement.
Each plant is carefully removed from its original growing medium so we can inspect and clean the roots before planting it in our signature handcrafted succulent & cactus soil blend. Made in-house and specifically curated for drought-tolerant plants, the blend provides the drainage and airflow their roots need while helping create a healthier transition from greenhouse conditions into your home.
Once planted, the garden is finished with natural stone and a carefully selected crystal.
But before that crystal becomes part of your Zen Garden, it goes through one final step: cleansing.
Each crystal is intentionally cleansed before being placed into the arrangement, clearing away the energy it may have carried through its journey and preparing it for its next space—yours.
The finished piece brings together two forms of nature: living energy from the plant and grounding energy from the earth. A small ecosystem created with intention, designed to bring a sense of stillness, connection and fresh energy wherever you place it.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SUCCULENT ZEN GARDEN
Succulents may be small, but they’re incredibly resilient. Their thick foliage naturally stores water, allowing them to thrive with relatively little attention.
The secret is simple: give them plenty of light, let them dry completely and resist the temptation to love them with too much water.
-
Succulents love sunshine, but intense direct sun can be a little too much if they haven’t been gradually acclimated to it.
A location with bright, indirect light is ideal, while gentle morning or later-afternoon sunlight can help support strong, compact growth and beautiful colouring.
-
Your Succulent Zen Garden will be happiest in a brightly lit space near a window.
Plenty of light helps your succulent maintain its compact shape and healthy growth. If it begins stretching or leaning noticeably toward a window, it’s usually asking for a little more light.
Rotate your garden occasionally to encourage balanced growth.
-
Allow the soil to dry completely before watering again.
Once completely dry, slowly pour approximately 0.5 oz of water over the Amethyst crystal, allowing it to gently flow around the crystal and into the soil below.
Succulents store water within their leaves, so they can comfortably handle periods of dryness. Their watering needs will naturally change depending on the season, temperature and amount of light they receive.
When in doubt, wait. Your succulent would rather be a little thirsty than a little too wet.
-
Succulents prefer normal to low household humidity and don’t need any additional misting or humidity.
Dry indoor air is perfectly fine. Good airflow and allowing the soil to fully dry between waterings are much more important.
-
Pet safety can vary depending on the specific cactus or succulent variety selected for each Zen Garden. Some varieties may cause irritation or adverse reactions if ingested, while cactus spines can also injure curious paws and mouths.
For that reason, we recommend keeping your Zen Garden somewhere pets cannot easily reach.
