The Ritual
When the soil has dried completely, use approximately 0.5-1 oz of water total for your garden.
Begin by slowly pouring a portion of the water down the Clear Quartz crystal, allowing it to move gently around the raw stone and into the soil beneath. Pour the remaining water onto the soil at each side of the planter, helping distribute moisture throughout the root zones of both plants.
As the water moves from crystal to earth, take a moment to be present. Set an intention for what you want to bring greater clarity to, what you want to grow and what energy you want to invite into your space.
Clear Quartz is traditionally believed to amplify intention, so let this simple act of care become a reminder that what we give our attention to, we give energy to.
Let the crystal hold the intention while the living plants become a visual reminder to nurture it.
This is more than watering a plant. It’s a small ritual of connection between you, living energy and energy from the earth.
Nurture your space. Set your intention. Influence your energy.
At GINA&AURA, we believe the energy you bring into your space matters—and so does the way it gets there.
Every cactus and succulent chosen for our Zen Gardens is individually handpicked. We look beyond appearance, selecting healthy, established plants and paying particular attention to the condition of their roots before they ever become part of an arrangement.
Each plant is carefully removed from its original growing medium so we can inspect and clean the roots before planting it in our signature handcrafted succulent & cactus soil blend. Made in-house and specifically curated for drought-tolerant plants, the blend provides the drainage and airflow their roots need while helping create a healthier transition from greenhouse conditions into your home.
Once planted, the garden is finished with natural stone and a carefully selected crystal.
But before that crystal becomes part of your Zen Garden, it goes through one final step: cleansing.
Each crystal is intentionally cleansed before being placed into the arrangement, clearing away the energy it may have carried through its journey and preparing it for its next space—yours.
The finished piece brings together two forms of nature: living energy from the plant and grounding energy from the earth. A small ecosystem created with intention, designed to bring a sense of stillness, connection and fresh energy wherever you place it.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SUCCULENT ZEN GARDEN
Succulents are beautifully resilient. Designed by nature to store water within their leaves, they prefer a little independence and generally thrive when given plenty of light, well-draining soil and time to dry between waterings.
-
Succulents love light. Bright, indirect sunlight is ideal, although many varieties will appreciate a few hours of gentle direct morning or late-afternoon sun.
Avoid suddenly placing your garden in intense, prolonged midday sunlight, which can cause scorching—especially if the plants have been accustomed to softer indoor light.
-
Place your Zen Garden in one of the brightest areas of your home, ideally close to a sunny window.
Adequate light helps succulents maintain their compact shape, beautiful colouring and healthy growth. If they begin stretching or leaning toward the light, they may be asking for a brighter location.
-
Allow the soil to dry completely before watering again.
Once dry, use approximately 0.5-1 oz of water total for the entire garden. Slowly pour a portion down the crystal, then distribute the remaining water onto the soil at each side of the planter so moisture reaches both plants rather than collecting in one area.
Succulents store water within their leaves, so they handle dryness far better than consistently wet soil. Watering frequency will naturally change with the season, temperature and amount of light your garden receives.
When in doubt, wait. A little thirst is much easier to recover from than too much love.
-
Succulents are happiest in normal to low household humidity and do not require misting.
Good airflow and allowing the soil to dry thoroughly between waterings will keep them happiest.
-
Pet safety varies by succulent variety. Because the succulent varieties used in our Zen Gardens may vary, we recommend keeping the garden away from pets who like to nibble on plants.
