The Ritual

When the soil has dried completely, slowly pour approximately 1 oz of water over the crystal, allowing the water to flow gently around it and into the living garden below.

As you water, take a moment to be present. Set an intention for the energy you want to nurture—within your space and within yourself. Let the crystal ground your intention while the plant reminds you that growth takes time, care and patience.

This is more than watering a plant. It’s a small ritual of connection between you, living energy and energy from the earth.

At GINA&AURA, we believe the energy you bring into your space matters—and so does the way it gets there.

Every cactus and succulent chosen for our Zen Gardens is individually handpicked. We look beyond appearance, selecting healthy, established plants and paying particular attention to the condition of their roots before they ever become part of an arrangement.

Each plant is carefully removed from its original growing medium so we can inspect and clean the roots before planting it in our signature handcrafted succulent & cactus soil blend. Made in-house and specifically curated for drought-tolerant plants, the blend provides the drainage and airflow their roots need while helping create a healthier transition from greenhouse conditions into your home.

Once planted, the garden is finished with natural stone and a carefully selected crystal.

But before that crystal becomes part of your Zen Garden, it goes through one final step: cleansing.

Each crystal is intentionally cleansed before being placed into the arrangement, clearing away the energy it may have carried through its journey and preparing it for its next space—yours.

The finished piece brings together two forms of nature: living energy from the plant and grounding energy from the earth. A small ecosystem created with intention, designed to bring a sense of stillness, connection and fresh energy wherever you place it.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR CACTUS ZEN GARDEN

Designed to be beautifully low-maintenance, your Cactus Zen Garden brings living energy into your home without requiring an elaborate care routine. Cacti naturally store water and are much happier spending time dry than sitting in excess moisture.

Give your garden plenty of light, resist the urge to overwater and let it settle into your space.

  • Your cactus loves light. A bright location near a window is ideal, where it can enjoy plenty of natural sunlight throughout the day.

    Gentle direct morning or later-afternoon sun can be beneficial. If introducing your garden to stronger direct sunlight, do so gradually to reduce the risk of scorching.

  • Place your Zen Garden in the brightest area of your home whenever possible. Cacti naturally thrive with abundant light, and brighter conditions help support healthy, compact growth.

    A bright windowsill, shelf near a sunny window or another naturally illuminated space works beautifully.

  • Allow the soil to dry completely before watering again. Never water simply because a certain number of days have passed.

    Once completely dry, slowly pour approximately 1 oz of water over the Amethyst crystal, allowing it to flow gently around the crystal and into the soil below.

    Your garden's watering needs will naturally change depending on its environment, light, temperature and season. Cacti are far more tolerant of being left dry than being overwatered.

    When in doubt, wait. Your cactus is much happier thirsty than sitting wet.

  • No extra humidity needed. Cacti prefer dry indoor environments and are perfectly comfortable in normal to low household humidity.

    Keep your Zen Garden away from consistently damp environments and allow the soil to breathe and dry naturally between waterings.

  • Pet safety can vary depending on the specific cactus or succulent variety selected for each Zen Garden. Some varieties may cause irritation or adverse reactions if ingested, while cactus spines can also injure curious paws and mouths.

    For that reason, we recommend keeping your Zen Garden somewhere pets cannot easily reach.
